At the February 23rd 2024, at one of our best attended membership meetings ever, the membership of CUPE 3903 Units 1, 2, and 3 (Teaching Assistants, Contract Faculty, and Graduate Assistants) voted strongly in favour to begin strike action on February 26th until a fair contract can be negotiated. The strike concluded on April 19th after the membership of all three units ratified new collective agreements.

- Many of our members have experienced traumatic events throughout the strike, whether it is police violence or aggressive behaviour from drivers. In light of these circumstances, members may benefit from trauma-informed counselling. A number of social work department comrades with a background in psychotherapy have volunteered to provide these supports and additional resources should needs arise.
