IMPORTANT – Always Apply as an Employee When Using YUscreen

When using YUscreen to upload vaccination records or exemption documentation, members of CUPE 3903 should always use their employee Passport York ID or indicate they are an employee, as relevant, even if they are also a student.

The employer has taken the position that a member who uploads documents or makes a request as a student is waiving their right to union representation, should there be any problems that impact their employment relationship. While this position is not legally sound, the union is advising all members to make their requests as employees to avoid any lengthy arguments about jurisdiction should there be a need for union intervention.
