The Trans Feminist Action Caucus (TFAC) holds elections for the two Executive Committee Co-Chair positions in February. All trans, woman identified, gender queer and gender variant CUPE 3903 members are members of TFAC.
Bylaws Article 14 (v) states: “The election procedures described in this article shall not include the election of the Chairs of the Trans Feminist Action Caucus or the Trans Caucus. The Trans Feminist Action Caucus and the Trans Caucus shall elect its Chairs in February of each year.”
This year’s election will take place on Monday, February 23 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in 311B Student Centre. Candidates who wish to run in the election will be invited to give a brief statement at the TFAC meeting on Monday, February 23 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Voting will continue in the same location until 5:00 p.m.
The deadline to announce your candidacy and to submit a written statement (maximum 200 words), if you choose to have one, is Friday, February 20 at 5:00 p.m. Your candidacy and your optional statement must be emailed to the Election Officer, Sara Shamdani, at sara.shamdani@gmail.com. The Election Officer will respond to your email to confirm receipt.
