Are you feeling overwhelmed or confused about the ongoing strike at York University? Are you seeking a safe and confidential space to voice your concerns, ask questions, or simply vent?
As a member of CUPE 3903 Unit 1 and a veteran of four strikes at York University, Ginny understands the challenges and uncertainties that come with navigating such situations. With over 12 years of experience attending York U, seven years as a CUPE 3903 member, TAships in four different departments, a year of mat leave, and many years living in all four grad residences, she’s been through it all – from undergrad to PhD.
Join Ginny for a drop-in hour where you can tap into her extensive York U knowledge and firsthand experience. Whether you’re curious about the strike dynamics, seeking insights into York University life, or just need a listening ear, Ginny is there for you.
Virginia was on Equity Committee for the Graduate Student History Association for 3 years. She is an elementary school teacher and a Royal Ontario Museum volunteer. She currently works for the Teaching Commons, facilitating educational workshops and training for Teaching Assistants. She held TAships in four different departments and has experienced a strike at the undergrad, Masters, and PhD level in previous years.
