The Executive Committee has called a Special General Membership Meeting (SGMM) to discuss and vote on the introduction to the bylaws of a CUPE 3903 Internal Sexual Violence Policy. The policy being put forward can be found here (pdf). All members are encouraged to attend. Lunch will be provided.
An SGMM may be called by a majority vote of the Executive Committee or by petition of at least 25 members in good standing as per Article 15 of the bylaws. An SGMM is called to address a specific issue and only matters germane to that purpose will be discussed.
The SGMM will be split into three parts, each given roughly an hour on the agenda:
- Presentation of the policy,
- Open discussion (no motions will be allowed during this time),
- Motions from the floor and opening of the vote.
