CUPE 3903 Files for Conciliation

In order to move the process of bargaining forward, and work toward securing renewed collective agreements for our members, CUPE 3903 has filed for conciliation with the Ministry of Labour. At this point in negotiations, following nine meetings with the York University administration, we are far apart on all major issues, including Unit 2 job security, Unit 3 jobs, Unit 1 and 3 funding, class size, wages, benefits, childcare funding, support for survivors of sexual violence and equity proposals.

Conciliation is a service offered by the Ministry of Labour to help the two sides reach an agreement. We are hopeful that the conciliation process will bring the two sides closer. CUPE 3903 is committed to working toward a fair collective agreement for Unit 1, 2 and 3 members. The CUPE 3903 Bargaining Team has set aside dates to continue bargaining twice a week in January.

Our teaching conditions are students’ learning conditions.
