One year ago on Thursday, after many months of bargaining, mobilizing, and holding picket lines in the cold we learned just as others before us that when we unite we prevail.
We struck and won!
We won because of our solidarity with one another, our tenacity to challenge the system, and our hopes for a better future. We followed in the footsteps of people who did what others said couldn’t be done. We built connections and communities which paved the way for the fight today.
Like all similar victories, ours are due to rank-and-file members.
In honour of that victory, the Stewards’ Council is holding an event to commemorate the date and celebrate it together. Please join us on March 31st, between 11-3pm at the union office, for some pastries served with tea and coffee, as we celebrate our ‘strikeversary’, our comradeship, and the arrival of spring.
