Deescalation Training with Sara Shamdani: February 28th at 5pm on Zoom

This de-escalation training is designed specifically for members of a labor union on strike, incorporating trauma-informed practices and compassionate communication to promote safety and empathy on the picket line. Members will be taught to identify early signs of emotional and behavioral escalation, crucial for timely and effective intervention. Emphasizing active listening, understanding without agreeing, and validating emotions, the training equips union members with the skills to engage in compassionate dialogue to de-escalate tensions while setting and reinforcing boundaries. Through this training we aim to foster a culture of respect and unity, ensuring that the picket line remains a place of peaceful expression and solidarity.
