If you wish to get more involved, you can also contact one of the following sub-committees:

1. The door-to-door outreach/departmental meetings committee. Those interested in working on this, please contact Peter Brogan at pbrogan1@gmail.com

2. The tabling committee; if you are interested in helping with tabling, please contact Murray Cooke at mcooke@yorku.ca

3. The off-campus mobilization committee, this committee is focusing on advertising and helping to coordinate solidarity actions with other locals and activist groups. 4. The communications/materials committee. This committee is already in the process of producing informational flyers on the legislation and what it means for us and will also look at putting together potential classroom and mail-out materials as well. November meetings - covering: the passing of Bill 115 by the Government of Ontario. This legislation removes the right of employees (teachers, support-staff, custodial-staff, & clerical-staff) of the various school board's to collectively bargain. Further, there is now draft legislation titled "The Protecting Public Services Act" which would do the same for other public-sector workers in Ontario, including university workers. If passed, this legislation would allow the government of Ontario to change, impose and even rollback any language in the collective agreement.

Please see the following - readable version of the flyer - for more information.

Other tasks you can work on in the meantime: recruit members in your department for a departmental mobilizing committee (DMC) to help organize department meetings and get folks out to membership meetings; build a departmental phone tree.
