The Trans Feminist Action Committee and Trans Caucus seeks two (2) self-identified trans* Poll Clerks and three (3) self-identified trans* members for the Trans Fund Committee.
The Trans Fund is comprised of 3 people whose responsibilities include advertising and promoting the Fund, receiving and reviewing applications, adjudicating applications, determining disbursements and other duties. All of the individuals who are elected to the Trans Fund must be Trans* identified.
Poll Clerks are paid $20/hr. The election will take place over Zoom.
The Trans Fund Committee will be adjudicating two rounds of the Trans Fund at $333 for both terms.
All trans-identified members of CUPE 3903 are eligible for these positions. We especially encourage trans women and trans feminine persons to apply. The nomination period is open until Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 12pm (noon).
The election will take place at the next TFAC meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 3pm via Zoom.
*It is important to employ a broad definition of “trans” in this regard. This includes people who self-identify as Two Spirit, trans, transgender, transsexual, genderqueer, non-binary, gender variant, MTF, FTM, transwoman, transman, non-cis, gender dysphoric and/or bi-gendered, de-gendered. This list is not exhaustive, nor should it imply that these groups necessarily embrace “trans*” terminology.
