This year’s CUPE National Convention will take place October 7 – 11, 2019 in Montréal. We will elect four delegates from the General Membership at our next GMM, tentatively scheduled for September 18th (time to be determined). Delegates have voting power and can push for important issues. The local will cover the cost of registration, travel and accommodations, and provide a $65 per diem.
If you would like to be a delegate please email the Recording Secretary by September 16th at 5pm.
The local has submitted several resolutions to CUPE National that we are hoping to have brought to the floor. You can view the full list of CUPE National resolutions here..
Unfortunately CUPE National decided to book convention over Yom Kippur, an issue our local has strenuously objected to. We have previously posted our communications with National about the issue and wanted to acknowledge this discriminatory scheduling. The Executive Committee apologizes on behalf of CUPE National for the exclusion of Jewish members observing Yom Kippur.
