(1) CUPE 3903 Memorandum of Settlement

On Wednesday, May 30, the bargaining team representing Teaching Assistants, Contract Faculty and Graduate Assistants proposed an offer of settlement to end the current strike. The offer, presented without prejudice, responds to the issues identified by the employer as “barriers to settlement,” and expires on Friday June 8 at 11:59 pm. The union invites the employer to engage the services of a mediator to discuss issues remaining on the table.

(2) Pet Food Donations Available at HQ

Earlier last week CUPE 3903 received a generous donation of both cat food and dog food that can be distributed to members if they are in need of pet food. The pet food will be available for pick up at Strike Headquarters beginning Thursday May 31 during regular HQ hours. We would like to thank Rhonda Doucette for thinking of our furry friends and providing such a thoughtful donation.

The Ontario Coalition Against Poverty (OCAP) believes the only way for the struggling people of this province to win is to build determined social movements capable of taking on whoever gets in power. Doug Ford would take the ongoing attack on poor and working class people to a new level, and so a resistance movement powerful enough to confront and defeat him must be built.

CUPE 3903 members are strongly encouraged to join OCAP on June 2 to demonstrate opposition to Ford’s agenda and to give him a preview of the resistance that awaits him should he become Premiere of Ontario. There are buses leaving from St George Station and Allen Gardens, for which you can register here.
