Strike pay

Cheques covering strike pay for all CUPE 3903 members who performed picket duty from March 21 to 31, and for a limited number of CUPE 3903 members who performed alternate duty between March 3 and 31, will be available for pick-up today and later this week. These cheques include payment for any discrepancies that appeared in the first round of strike pay. Payment amounts are based on all the supporting documentation that had been submitted to the union by April 5.

Cheques may be picked up from the Harry Crowe Room, 109 Atkinson Building, at the following dates and times:

  • Monday, April 6, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 7, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 8, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Please bring a piece of ID.

If a cheque has been issued in your name, and you would like it to be mailed to you, email your mailing address to CUPE3903payinfo@gmail.com with “MAIL CHEQUE” in the subject line.

Cheques covering strike pay for CUPE 3903 members who performed alternate duty (or who applied to perform alternate duty, but didn’t receive an adequate response) continue to be processed. The union aims to process these payments as quickly as possible, but has yet to receive all the supporting documentation required to issue cheques. We are currently tracking down all the required documentation.

Back pay

At the request of the union, York University has confirmed that wages for March 2015, which were scheduled to be paid to all CUPE 3903 members as back pay on April 25, will now be paid in a special “off cycle” payment on April 15 – ten days earlier than scheduled.

The monthly payment schedule will return to normal on April 25 and will only cover wages for April 2015.
