BMC Update: Stewards Council reconstituted as Bargaining Mobilization Committee

Here is an update on upcoming events. It’s a mix of important union
meetings, labour solidarity and a social event.

Bargaining Mobilization Committee (formerly Stewards’ Council) Update

1)      Stewards’ Council now Bargaining Mobilization Committee (BMC)
2)      Info Picket at IKEA North York this Saturday July 12, noon
3)      BMC meeting next Tuesday July 15, 5:00-7:00 pm downtown
4)      CUPE 3903 barbeque at Christie Pits, Sunday July 27, 11:00am-3:00pm

1)      Since we are now bargaining for a new collective agreement
(and following the bylaws and past-practice) the Stewards’ Council has
been reconstituted as the Bargaining Mobilization Committee (BMC). All
members are welcome to our meetings.

2)      Info Picket at IKEA North York this Saturday July 12 at noon
in support of locked out Teamsters at IKEA Richmond, BC.
IKEA North York is located at 15 Provost Drive (near Leslie TTC
station on the Sheppard line). Our local executive passed a motion
supporting the call for a national boycott of IKEA and endorsing the
solidarity campaign. There will be a CUPE 3903 presence at this info
picket. Please join us. Look for our flags. For more info on the issue
or the info picket, see

3)      The next Bargaining Mobilization Committee meeting will be
held on Tuesday July 15 from 5:00-7:00pm at a downtown location. We
will confirm the specific location as soon as possible. The BMC is
working on mobilization events over the summer and preparing for the
fall term. All members are welcome to attend. We need your help!

4)      CUPE 3903 barbeque at Christie Pits, Sunday July 27, 11:00am-3:00pm.
The BMC is organizing a barbeque for 3903 members and their families.
It will be fun! For details, see:
